Not only is the Timbavati one of South Africa’s top destinations, but it is also a reserve where a complete wilderness and deep connection to wildlife can be felt. 53 000ha of pristine wilderness, which boasts great sightings of wildlife as well as home to the big five.
The Timbavati Traverse was born as a fund-raising event whereby participants are able to use their fitness skills as well as wildlife passion to assist in raising additional funds to support the Timbavati and its neighbouring underprivileged communities.
It gives entrants the opportunity to explore the Timbavati and give back at the same time. Unparalleled views, breathtaking experience, high-quality catering & entertainment and the ultimate give-back fund-raising opportunity.

Fundraising
We have a number of ways in which you can get involved to canvas up additional donations and support towards the event and the participants. Learn more on how you can get involved.
The Timbavati Traverse fundraising initiatives not only bring the opportunity for participants to canvas up additional funds in order to stand a chance to win the incredible fundraising prize (see below) but now offering an online auction in which the greater community can get involved to assist in raising additional funds for our causes.
Our Participant’s crowdfunding platform for this year’s event has come to a close. A huge congratulations to Fredrik Mans from Education First who raised an incredible R77 727.00 additionally for our causes! Fredrick won the amazing prize of a two-night stay for two at the newly revamped Tanda Tula Safari Camp!
Online Auction:
There were two amazing sports memorabilia items up for auction this year. If you are the ultimate SA Sports fan, then these two items were not to be missed.
However, the online action is now closed and complete for 2023. We were able to raise with your help an additional R23 000.00 for our causes!
